Praises for Singapore
I have forgotten what I was looking for on the internet; my search turned up an article that is full of praises for Singapore. Happened a few months back during my self-imposed exile from my blog.
The General Election had just ended a few months back (6 May to be exact) and there had been a lot of criticism about "freedom of speech" and "unlevel playing field" during the election period.
This article that praises Singapore in every single paragraph sets me thinking deep on how others can see our good side, but we are always critising and never seeing how good we already are.
It was only later that my pea-sized brain realise that Singapore shouldn't be proud of the praises. You see, the article is using Singapore as a base reference to criticize China. The title of the article is roughly translated as Chinese Communist Party, a student of Singapore that is unable to graduate within 26 years. (See original text)
Singapore, a democratic nation complete with General Elections and Presidential Elections, being compared to China, the largest communist nation. If we do not win on "freedom", "fairness", and "playing by the book", then I don't know how to define the difference between democracy and communism.

MacPherson is spelled with a capital P lah!
The one thing I can't stand is that people insist on spelling MacPherson as "Macpherson". Get this into your heads my dears, it is "MacPherson", with a capital M and a capital P.
We have signboards in the MacPherson area with "Macpherson" splash all over.
Even the opposition candidate running for the parliamentary seat of MacPherson constituency couldn't get it right in his flyers and banners. Hello mister, before you think of representing MacPherson, trying finding out how to spell the name of the constituency correctly, yeah?
Before we talk about "Speak Good English" let us try "Spell Good English".
Come to think of it, what is the opposite of "broken english"? "Good English"?

Prowling on the net
Was getting rather bored with working in the lab yesterday, so surfed the net a little. It's a wonder the things that can turn up.
That's how i stumbled upon the P65 MP website. That's also how i found many of my friends' blogs...we are a bunch of shy people who never invite people to our blogs.
Yesterday i found yet another of blog belonging to my friend. It was the title of the blog that attracted me...because it borrowed the title of a song I love.
She is not really a close friend. She's smart and cute and really nice, but we juz dun click. Kinda different wavelength, me and she. I enjoy reading her blog though, so full of life and happy thots.
Yesterday I found another of her blog. I was saddened by the things she has written on this alt-blog. I am always easily affected by the emotion of people around me...whenever a gal friend is going through a rough patch with a guy friend, i get upset and totally hostile towards the guy...yah, i always side with the gals (unless the fault lies with the gal, then i'll side with no one..heehee)
It seems she is breaking up with her hubby. I had always wondered how come she never mention him in her blog. But then again, I never mention my family in my blog too, so wat's the big deal with a missing hubby.
Am in a horrible mood ever since i read her alt-blog yesterday...

The P65 MPs doing Hip Hop?!
I was listening to Dongli883 while working late into the night in office. Just letting the news rumble on, waiting for the songs to come on again.
Suddenly, *gasp* what duh?! Did I just hear the DJ say MP performing Hip Hop in Chingay 07?!
Oh my god?! It's true!! That's Teo Ser Luck talking about it...
Not say I want to say, but these MPs arh...donno what to say them ah..My first reaction was "Oh shit, what happened?"
Went to visit their blog at http://www.p65.sg
Good try. But must try harder. Everyone write like writing official statement like dat. The best piece is by Lam Pin Min, about his childhood...interesting, at least for me who is born after the "catching spider" era...personal, which is what blogging is about.
First Hip Hop, now blogging. What next? Podcast?
mrbrown shot to stardom with his PNPP #6 (aka Bak Chor Mee Mai Di Gua) podcast...maybe the P65 can try a Mee Siam Mai Harm one and see where that leads them? Haha...
